• Health & Safety Training Tailored to Your Organisation.

Let's face it, traditional assessment-based Health & Safety training doesn't always deliver the long-term improvement in H&S culture and practices that modern organisations are seeking.
While it's vital that people have the appropriate NZQA training and certifications there's a lot more involved when it comes to creating safe, productive workplaces. Every organisation is different which means their policies, processes and procedures are different. It makes sense then that their H&S training needs will be different too.

    We can help !

  • Tailored Health & Safety Training

NZQA H&S assessments and qualifications are an important way of showing that training has been completed and a specific level of competency achieved at course completion. But how much of that new knowledge do trainees actually retain over time and put to use in the workplace ? The answer is “it depends”…

The day after a course, participants will retain on average 10% of what they read, 75% of what they did hands-on and 90% of what they taught others.

At Futurebright we aim for a minimum of 75% by building upon and complementing NZQA H&S qualifications with tailored training that incorporates your team members’ everyday work, workplace scenarios and documentation. And for supervisors, first line managers and in-house trainers, similarly tailored training is combined with ongoing one-to-one mentoring to help turn theory into practice and impact.

There are many benefits to this approach - incident and accident rates are improved, health and safety becomes part of organisatonal culture, employee wellbeing improves and, importantly, it helps your organisation demonstrate a strong focus on participation and engagement as required under the Health & Safety in the Workplace Act 2015.

    Beyond Health & Safety

Soft skills (sometimes referred to as transferable, interpersonal or power skills) are general traits – such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability – which are not specific to any job and that help employees excel in any workplace. According to research conducted by Harvard University, 85% of job success can be attributed to these types of skills with the remaining 15% being due to technical skills.
We use LEGO® Serious Play® and Riders & Elephants’ Emotional Culture Deck to incorporate soft skills development into our training and have found both frameworks to be highly effective and well-received by trainees.
